News Campus Crime Report The following is a partial report of campus crime between May 31 and Tuesday. All information is selected from the files of the UH Police Department. The information in italics indicates when the event was reported to UHPD and the event's location. Information or questions regarding the cases below should be directed to UHPD at (713) 743-0600. Criminal mischief: 4:02 p.m., May 31, Lot 15D -- A University student reported his unattended, secured vehicle was damaged while parked in UH Lot 15D by unknown persons. There are no suspects or witnesses. Occurred in the time between 11:30 p.m. May 31 and midnight June 1. Possession of marijuana: 11:35 p.m., May 31, Lot 4A -- An adult male visitor was arrested for possession of marijuana as he was smoking it in his vehicle while parked in UH Lot 4A. The visitor was arrested and transported to the Harris County Jail. Occurred at 11:35 p.m. May 31. Theft: 5:05 p.m., June 1, Lot 18B -- A UH staff member reported that unknown individuals attempted to remove a wheel from his parked vehicle in Lot 18A. Three lug nuts were removed from the right rear wheel of his vehicle, but the suspects did not remove the tire. Occurred between 12:30 p.m. and 7: 30 p.m. May 30.. Driving with invalid license: 8:30 a.m., Friday, Entrance 1 -- A visitor was stopped for a traffic violation. A check through the Texas and National Crime Information Centers, the Justice Information Management System and the Southeast Texas Crime Information Center revealed the visitor had outstanding warrants and was driving with a suspended license. The visitor was subsequently arrested and transported to Harris County Jail where he was released to deputies. Occurred at 8:30 a.m. Friday. Criminal trespass: 8:40 p.m., Saturday, Robertson Stadium -- A visitor who was previously issued a criminal trespass warning was observed at the Houston Dynamo soccer game and arrested again for criminal trespass. The visitor was booked into the Harris County Jail. Occurred at 8:40 p.m. Saturday. Assault/public intoxication: 10:09 p.m., Saturday, Robertson Stadium -- A visitor reported she was physically assaulted in Lot 15D. There were no witnesses to the assault. The visitor was arrested for public intoxication, issued a Harris County citation and released to a family member. The visitor refused to assist in the investigation of the reported assault. Occurred between 9:45 p.m. and 10:09 p.m. Saturday. Simple assault, non-aggravated: 1:09 a.m., Sunday, Cullen Oaks Apartments -- A UH student was assaulted by a known friend during a verbal dispute. The complainant did not wish to press charges. Occurred at 1 a.m. Sunday. Theft by deception: 10:33 p.m., Monday, Bayou Oaks Apartments -- A student reported he received e-mails through his UH e-mail account requesting he send money to receive a prize. The student stated he sent two money orders. Occurred between May 18 and Monday. Criminal mischief: 8:24 a.m., Tuesday, M.D. Anderson Memorial Library -- A staff member reported unknown persons forced entry into his office and an adjacent office causing damage. The staff member advised that no property was missing from inside the offices. Occurred between 5 p.m. Monday and 7:45 a.m. Tuesday. Traffic offense: 7:47 a.m., Tuesday, Lot 15D -- A UH student's unattended vehicle was struck by another vehicle while parked in a UH parking lot.
