NEWS

UH gets nod for diversity
UH has again been recognized because of the diversity of its students.

Former student sues UH
A former student with no arms has filed a lawsuit against UH, claiming the University failed to provide him with the assistance required by law, The Houston Chronicle reported Thursday.

Friedman rallies support
Independent gubernatorial candidate Kinky Friedman brought his message of legalized gambling and alternative energy to supporters Saturday at a local beer garden.

Corrections

The Daily Cougar inaccurately reported Tuesday in its staff editorial the name of the university revoking degrees based on charges of plagiarism. Ohio University, not Ohio State University as was reported, sent letters to more than 50 electrical engineering alumni urging them to respond to the charges or risk losing degrees.

In the June 22 issue, The Daily Cougar misidentified Tatcho Mindiola as a student when he is in fact the director of the Center for Mexican American Studies.
