Djananova signs for 2006-07 tennis season

Cougar Sports Services

The UH tennis team welcomed Tuesday its newest member, Anna Djananova, who during the early signing period, signed a National Letter of Intent.

"I believe Anna will contribute right away as a freshman for us next season," head coach John Severance said. "I'm looking forward to coaching her and teaching her how to play college tennis. She has the potential to be a very good college player."

Djananova, a native of Bulgaria, is attending Stratford High School. She will contribute to the team's 2006-07 season.

The Cougars finished the fall season strong with their performance Nov. 12 at the Seminole Fall Classic in Tallahassee, Fla., where seniors Yolandi Terblanche and Kami Miller claimed the Flight No. 1 championship in doubles action.

UH will step onto the John E. Hoff Varsity Tennis Courts at 9 a.m. Jan. 28 when it opens its spring season against Sam Houston State.
