Regents may propose
tuition hike
The UH System Board of Regents will
likely propose another increase in tuition and fees next semester. Board
of Regents Chairman Leroy L. Hermes said the increase will be necessary
to fund programs and hire new faculty in several departments.
Money fraud suit now in court
The trial for a four-year old whistleblower
lawsuit filed by a professor against the University is set to begin today
in a Harris County court.
Recent graduate will rely on grassroots
to win election
Former UH student regent and recent
graduate of the C.T. Bauer College of Business, Laura Salinas, is running
for the vacant District 143 House seat and said her "grassroots campaign"
will lead her to victory.
Hernandez counts on previous experience
to gain house seat
UH alumna Ana Hernandez, 26, was the
favorite in November's District 143 special election with 42 percent of
the votes, but that wasn't enough to secure her the seat.
