Campus Crime Report

The following is a partial report of campus crime between Jan. 14 and Monday. All information is selected from the files of the UH Police Department. The information in italics indicates when the event was reported to UHPD and the event's location. Information or questions regarding the cases below should be directed to UHPD at (713) 743-0600.

Theft: 6:05 p.m., Jan. 14, Hofheinz Pavilion -- A staff member reported she saw some beverages in December in a refrigerated cabinet. When she returned, they were missing. There are no suspects. Occurred between unknown time Dec. 16, 2005 and 5:45 p.m. Jan. 14.

Criminal Mischief: 9:53 p.m., Jan. 16, Cullen Oaks Apartment -- A student advised that someone tampered with his room door and broke a key inside the door lock. The investigation is ongoing. Occurred between 5 p.m. Dec. 14, 2005 and 7 p.m. Jan 16.

Assault: 2:55 p.m., Jan. 18, Ezekiel Cullen Room 316, 3rd Floor -- A staff member reported that a student worker verbally assaulted him in his office. Occurred at 1:15 p.m. Jan. 18.

Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle: 1:02 p.m., Saturday, Parking Garage -- A student and a visitor were arrested after being seen as the driver and passenger of a confirmed stolen vehicle. A Student Life Referral was issued against the student and both were transported to the Harris County Jail. The vehicle was towed to UHDPS and will be returned to the owner. Occurred at 1:02 p.m. Saturday. 

Evading Arrest: 2:48 p.m., Monday, Student Service Center Student Life Plaza -- A juvenile visitor was panhandling. When a police officer asked the visitor for identification, the visitor ran away. The visitor was apprehended and charges were subsequently filed with the Harris County Juvenile Division for evading on foot. Visitor was released to a guardian. Occurred at 3:03 p.m. Monday.
