The Houston men's and women's track and field teams had a grand showing at the Boise State Athletes Invitational in Nampa, Idaho, on Saturday, winning 12 events.

The women's team racked up gold medals in seven different events, led by junior sprinter LaDedra Guy, who won both the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes and ran on UH's winning 4x400-meter relay. She finished the 60-meter race in 7.52 seconds, edging teammate Seum Adigun's time of 7.75 seconds. In the 200-meter race, Guy won the second heat with a time of 24.22 seconds just ahead of junior teammate Ebonie Floyd, who claimed the first heat in 24.69 seconds.

Junior Keisha Howard also ran a leg in the winning relay and claimed the top finish in the women's 400-meter dash. Howard, Floyd and Guy joined up with junior Cheryl Garner to win the women's 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:48:64 that easily beat out Boise State's time of 3:55:25.

UH's other winners in the women's division included junior Rachel Easley, along with sophomores Jennifer Harper and Caresir Hamilton. Easley won the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.69 seconds in the first of two heats, while Adigun was the runner-up in a second event with the same time. Hamilton claimed the gold medal in the women's triple jump with a leap of 12.86 meters (42-2.25 feet).

In the men's division, UH won three races and two field events. Senior Preston Perry won the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.75 seconds and claimed the silver medal in the 200-meter race with a time of 21.44 seconds. Perry joined fellow teammates sophomore Carey LaCour, along with freshmen Kolee Latson and Justin McQueen to win the 4x400-meter relay.

Latson won the men's 400-meter dash with a time of 48.05 seconds. Sophomore Tristian Whitley won the men's high jump after clearing 2.12 meters (6-11.50 feet). Senior Tom Rusteberg won the pole vault after clearing 4.60 meters (15-1 feet).
