News Campus Crime Report The following is a partial report of campus crime between Jan. 7 and Saturday. All information is selected from the files of the UH Police Department. The information in italics indicates when the event was reported to UHPD and the event's location. Information or questions regarding the cases below should be directed to UHPD at (713) 743-0600. Theft: 10:58 p.m., Feb. 7, University Center -- A visitor was soliciting credit cards offers with free gifts and an unknown male took one of the gifts without the consent of a visitor. There are no suspects. Occurred at 10:58 a.m. Feb. 7. Assault: 9:51 p.m., Feb. 7, Cambridge Oaks Apartments -- A visitor reported his brother's girlfriend was physically assaulted by his brother who is dating the female. Both girlfriend and boyfriend were gone before authorities arrived. Occurred at 9:37 p.m. Feb. 7. Criminal Trespass/Evading Arrest: 4:26 p.m., Wednesday, Farish Hall
-- A visitor known for prior thefts was seen in the Farish Hall Building.
The visitors attempted to evade UH Department of Public Safety officers
on foot. The individual hid in a residence on Harvest Street. Houston Police
Department K-9 was called and assisted in locating the suspect who was
hiding in the house. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Harris
County Jail. Occurred at 4:26 p.m. Wednesday.
