News Deadline for SGA filing is today Commissioner blames lack of information on poor organization Cougar News Staff Students who want to run for Student Government Association positions for the 2006-07 school year have until 5 p.m. today to file. The Senate voted unanimously Wednesday to extend the deadline in response to Election Commissioner Glory Ngwolo's concern that many students were unaware of the original deadline. Ngwolo said Wednesday the extended deadline would help eliminate the impression of collusion and cronyism by candidates then running unopposed, but as of Monday afternoon, no new applications had been filed. Speaking for the members of the SGA Election Commission, Ngwolo also said Wednesday the election was poorly organized and that the disarray was partially to blame for student ignorance of the proceedings. Students interested in running should pick up applications
in the SGA offices located in the University Center Underground.
