Sports Cougars want to end 2006 with bang Cougar Sports Staff The Cougars desperately need to bounce back with a huge win over Rice at 7 p.m. Wednesday if they want to increase their fading chances of making the NCAA Tournament. Houston definitely could not afford Saturday's loss against Texas El Paso, and now this 18-7 team needs to win in convincing fashion if they want to make any noise in March. It all begins at Hofheinz Pavilion tomorrow. The game will be the Cougars' last home game of the season. It will be the final chance to catch Ramon Dyer "posterize" another helpless postman, Chris Lawson cross someone out of his shoes or Brian Latham force another turnover. The Athletics Department would like the seniors of UH's most successful team in 14 years to be able to see a "sea of red" for its final home stand, so everyone is encouraged to wear red. The first 200 students will receive free Cougar T-shirts. The Coog Crew will also host a student tailgate at
the corner of Cullen Boulevard and Holman Avenue with free food and drinks
for all students.
