Crossing the finish
line
About a year ago, the bus carrying
the UH men's basketball team pulled into a checkpoint at the Springfield/Branson
Regional Airport in Springfield, Miss.
Prison design focus of talk
The Rice Design Alliance Grant will
present "The Carceral City: The Architecture of Prisons in Texas" at 6
p.m. Tuesday in the Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture, as well as
an exhibition of photographs and architectural drawings running through
March 24.
Charity event serves a bowlful
Houston-area artisans took a stand
in the fight against hunger as they rendered one-of-a-kind, handcrafted
bowls at the third annual Empty Bowls, Houston event Saturday at the Houston
Center for Contemporary Craft and Lawndale Art Center.
