Campus Spotlight
TODAY Beating Rice will mean double the pleasure for the Cougars: UH will play its cross-town rival Rice at 6 p.m. at the FedEx Forum in Memphis. The game will be televised on CSTV, and it will be the second consecutive Conference USA semi-final game for the Cougars in two years. UH advanced by defeating No. 7 seed Southern Miss 62-59 Thursday in a quarterfinal matchup that went down to the wire. Junior guard Robert "Fluff" McKiver, ended the night with a game-high 28 points. Junior guard Marcus Malone was the only other UH player to score in double figures and added 20 points to the Cougars winning effort. The No. 6 seed Owls upset No. 2 seed UCF in another quarterfinal contest that was not decided until the final seconds. Rice Senior guard and the nation's third leading scorer surpassed his season average of 26.6 points per game and dropped 30 on the Golden Knights. He hit what would be the game winning three-point shot with 2.8 seconds remaining in the second half to put his team up 53-51. Today will mark the third time the two schools have met this season, and the winner in play in the Conference USA Championship Game on Saturday. SATURDAY The ‘Madness' of March can be mind blowing: The Conference USA Men's Basketball Championship game, presented by Aéropostale, will start at 10:35 a.m. at the FedEx Forum in Memphis. The game will be nationally televised on CBS and will include the winners of Friday's quarterfinal matchups. The winner of (1) Memphis and (5) Tulsa will face the winner of (3) Houston and (6) Rice. Career services will hold a campus recruitment workshop at 3 p.m. in Room
