Campus Crime Report

The following is a partial report of campus crime between Monday and Wednesday. All information is selected from the files of the UH Police Department. The information in italics indicates when the event was reported to UHPD and the event's location. Information or questions regarding the cases below should be directed to UHPD at (713) 743-0600. 

Student life policy violation: 11:08 p.m. Monday, Bayou Oaks Apartments -- Three UH students were issued Student Life and Residential Life Referrals for having an unusable amount of marijuana left in the toilet bowl of a room located in a Bayou Oaks townhouse. Occurred at 11:08 p.m. Monday. 

Robbery: 1:07 a.m. Tuesday, 4500 Cullen Blvd. -- A student reported an unknown male robbed him while he walked north on Cullen Boulevard. There are no suspects. Occurred at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday. 

Theft: 7:03 a.m. Tuesday, Athletic/Alumni Center -- A visitor reported Aramark cash was stolen from a secured area in the Athletic/Alumni Center. An investigation is ongoing. Occurred between 6:20 p.m. Saturday and 9:15 a.m. Monday. 

False report to police officer: 9:10 p.m. Tuesday, Lot 13A -- A UH student reported that she was the victim of a criminal offense. After further investigation, the student admitted that she made up the story to get the attention of a male friend. The student was issued a UH Police Department Student Life Referral and released to the custody of her parents. Occurred 3/20/07 between 4:30 and 6:17 p.m. Tuesday. 

Burglary of a motor vehicle: 12:57 a.m. Wednesday, Lot 9C -- An officer observed a shattered window on a vehicle parked in Lot 9C. Contact with the owner determined the vehicle had been burglarized while parked in the lot. There are no suspects. Occurred between 12:09 and 12:56 a.m. Wednesday.

Arson: 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, University Center Satellite -- Someone attempted to create an explosion (fire) in the southwest stairwell of the UC Satellite. Occurred between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 7:35 a.m. Wednesday. 

Theft: 11:05 a.m. Wednesday, Engineering Laboratory -- A student reported that his personal Ford engine block and engine stand are missing from the Y Building. An investigation is ongoing. Occurred at 11:05 a.m. Wednesday. 

Deadly conduct: 5:57 p.m. Wednesday, Lot 16D -- A UH student's vehicle was struck by a stray bullet while parked in a UH lot. There were no injuries to report. There are no witnesses or suspects at this time. An investigation is ongoing. Occurred between 11:15 .m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday.
