UH Campus Ministries Association will conduct its annual memorial service for UH students, faculty and staff who have died during the past year.

The service will take place at noon April 18 in the chapel of the A.D. Bruce Religion Center.

The service has occurred for more than 20 years, the Rev. Stacy Pever Anzick, president of the Campus Ministries Association, said.

The service will consist of prayers and readings from scriptures from several religious traditions.

"There will be a reading of names of persons who have died along with candles being lit and an opportunity for people to speak about the deceased if they wish to," Anzick said.

Anyone from the UH community, family members or friends can submit the name of a person who has died during the past year that was connected to the University.

"We have intentionally included prayers and/or sacred readings from the three major faiths (Jewish, Christian and Muslim) and all others are welcome to participate as well," she said. "While the service is at noon, the chapel will be open all day for people to come and pray, sit silently, remember their loved ones, and clergy representatives from the different campus ministries will be available throughout the day incase someone wants to talk about their loss."

The service will last for approximately 45 minutes and will be followed by light refreshments.

Those who wish to participate in this service may e-mail Anzick at stacypeveranzick@gmail.com or call her at (713) 747-0335 by April 6.
