News Campus Crime Update The following is a partial report of campus crime between March 30 and Monday. All information is selected from the files of the UH Police Department. The information in italics indicates when the event was reported to UHPD and the event's location. Information or questions regarding the cases below should be directed to UHPD at (713) 743-0600. Theft: 12:36 p.m. March 30, M.D. Anderson Library -- A student reported someone stole the seat from her bicycle, which was secured to the bicycle rack in front of M.D. Anderson Library. There are no suspects. Occurred between 9 and 9:30 p.m. March 29. Theft: 4:20 p.m. March 30, Moores School of Music -- A UH student's wallet and watch were stolen out of his unsecured and unattended briefcase in a practice room in the Moores building. There are no suspects or witnesses. Occurred between 1:15 and 2:30 p.m. March 30. Driving while license invalid: 5:06 p.m. March 30, Lot 20A -- A UH student was arrested for driving with an invalid license when he was stopped for suspicious activity. The student was transported and released to Harris County jail. Occurred at 5:06 p.m. March 30. Traffic offense: 6:16 p.m. March 30, Lot 16B -- A UH student reported that someone struck and damaged her unattended and secured vehicle and failed to leave the information required by law. There was a witness to the incident. An investigation is on going. Occurred between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. March 30. Theft: 11:32 p.m. March 30, Lot 15D -- A UH visitor reported someone stolen the front and rear Texas license plates from her secured and unattended vehicle while she attended Frontier Fiesta. The visitor also stated that the suspects caused substantial damage to her vehicle by scratching the entire right side of the vehicle and breaking the driver's side rearview mirror. Occurred between 9:16 and 11:20 p.m. March 30. Motor vehicle theft: 2:14 a.m. Saturday, Lot 4A -- A UH student reported someone stole his unattended and unsecured vehicle from Lot 4A. The vehicle was recovered by officers. Occurred between 12:42 p.m. March 30 and 2:10 a.m. Saturday. Theft: 10:48 p.m. Saturday, Lot 12A -- A student was detained at Frontier Fiesta during an investigation of the theft of a keg of beer. The investigation determined that student was not responsible for the theft, but he had knowledge of the theft. The detained student was issued a Student Life Referral for his involvement. Occurred between 10:30 and 10:45 p.m. Saturday. Motor vehicle theft: 12:13 a.m. Sunday, Lot 15H -- A UH student reported someone stole his unsecured and unattended vehicle from Lot 15H. The vehicle was later recovered by the complainant at an off-campus location. The case is inactive. Occurred between 11 a.m. March 30 and 12:15 a.m. Sunday. Public intoxication: 12:18 a.m. Sunday, Lot 11A -- A UH student was found to be intoxicated in Lot 11A. The student was transported to Harris County jail. The student was issued a Student Life Referral in reference to the incident. Occurred at 12:18 a.m. Sunday. Criminal trespass: 12:50 a.m. Sunday, Lot 12A -- A visitor was arrested for criminal trespass after he refused to leave the Frontier Fiesta area when asked to do so by police. The visitor was arrested and transported to the Harris County jail and released. Occurred at 12:50 a.m. Sunday. Assault: 12:50 a.m. Sunday, Lot 12A -- A student was arrested after being observed striking a visitor, causing injury. The student was released to Harris County jail. Occurred between 12:50 and 12:51 a.m. Sunday. Disorderly conduct: 2:38 a.m. Sunday, Robertson Stadium -- Several UH students reported a UH visitor to Frontier Fiesta started a disturbance that resulted in other students being assaulted. Upon further investigation the visitor in question could not be positively identified by the witnesses and was released. Occurred at 1 a.m. Sunday. Criminal mischief: 12:19 p.m. Monday, Entrance 7 -- A visitor and a staff member reported someone vandalized their vehicles while the vehicles were parked in Lot 9C. There are no suspects at this time. Occurred between 8 a.m. and 12:19 p.m. Monday. Harassment: 12:54 p.m. Monday, Cougar Place -- A student reported receiving a telephone call from the same male individual she reported in a 2006 harassment report. Occurred at 12:30 p.m. March 27. Traffic offense: 2:58 p.m. Monday, Lot 15D -- A UH student reported a vehicle struck his unattended and secured vehicle while it was parked in Lot 15D. The driver of the striking vehicle left without leaving proper information required by law. There are no witnesses or suspects. Occurred between 7:54 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Monday.
