News UH release emphasizes crisis plans in wake of shooting The University released a statement Monday in response to calls regarding campus security following the deaths of at least 33 people in a shooting at Virginia Tech -- the deadliest shooting rampage in U.S. history. "An emergency management plan that addresses a wide array of potential crisis situations is in place and details appropriate responses to be taken by the University administration when faced with these contingencies," the release said. UH is patrolled 24 hours a day by officers on foot,
on bicycles and in cars, and nearly 300 cameras monitor the campus.
