Life & Arts Workshop plays hit the stage COUGAR LIFE & ARTS SERVICES The School of Theatre and Dance will display new talent discovered through its annual playwright workshop. The Edward Albee New Playwrights Workshop helps talented student writers turn their scripts into on-stage productions. Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lanford Wilson directs the writers in the process of writing and editing their scripts. Five workshop plays will debut in the Jose Quintero Lab Theatre in the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts. Tough Love, Sticks and Stones and Somebody Else's Balls can be seen at 8 p.m. today and Saturday. Flesh and Blood and Shanghai, can be seen at 8 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Sunday. In 1989, Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Edward Albee
founded the New Playwrights Workshop to encourage emerging talent at the
University. Albee enlisted the services of Wilson to take over the workshop
in 2004.
