Campus Spotlight
TUESDAY This workshop is for that guy who's changed his
major three times, has been in school for seven years and still lives with
his mom. Or, in less extreme cases, for anyone who just hasn't picked a
major: University Career Services will hold a choosing a major workshop
from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Room 106, Student Service Center. Seating is
limited and there will be a $10 materials fee. To R.S.V.P. or for more
information, call (713) 743-5093 or visit www.career.uh.edu.
WEDNESDAY If only everyone could get an internship, then
the world would be a much happier place. Then again, if everyone had an
internship, evil zombies could roam the U.S. preying on defenseless Chihuahuas
and their owners. Luckily, everyone, using their internship powers would
have the ability to do cool, ‘Matrix'-like moves. If this sounds like the
plot to a cheesy movie, it's because it is. If you value your sanity, don't
ever watch ‘House of the Dead.' Going to an internship workshop sounds
like a pretty good idea, though: University Career Services will hold
an internship workshop at 3 p.m. in Room 106, Student Service Center. For
more information, visit www.career.uh.edu.
TODAY IN HISTORY After unsuccessfully conducting a Google search for a holiday named in honor of the greatest quarterback of all time, Dan Marino, The Daily Cougar® Managing Editor Chris Elliott was thoroughly disappointed. Needless to say, there was no such thing. The Daily Cougar is a student publication committed to fairness, ethics and equality. In an effort to right the wrongs committed by people not cool enough to realize Marino's awesomeness, Elliott decided to dedicate this Campus Spotlight's Today in History to Marino. This day in history will henceforth be known as Dan Marino Is Awesome and Super Bowl Victories Are Overrated Day.
