Fear Factory to deliver hard metal

by KRISTINA TASS
The Daily Cougar

Fear Factory has been around for years and tonight they'll be gracing us with their presence at Warehouse Live, 813 St. Emanuel St. On tour, Fear Factory will be playing old as well as new tracks to entice the listeners.

"We'll be playing a lot of older stuff on tour that we haven't played in over 10-12 years so of course it's gonna be fun playing some new stuff," guitarist Christian Olde Wolbers said.

Of course there's always a favorite among the band.

"‘Architype' for a lot of different reasons. It's part of the new Fear Factory, an all around catchy Fear Factory song. It's just really fun to play live," Wolbers said.

A fresh show makes one feel different things.

"It's like going on a roller coaster ride. When the show starts it's like going up the roller coaster and when you're about to go down that's when the show really starts," Wolbers said.

For one who's never attended a Fear Factory show, you must know what to expect.

"They can expect a bunch of hard hitting metal that's for sure. Especially on this next tour, they'll be a softer moment, but it's going to be a metal show," Wolbers said.

Fear Factory has been around for a while and they will continue their journey throughout life.

"We've been around for about sixteen years and we've had about six albums out and a bunch of remix albums. We broke up in 2001 and we got back together in 2003, we're part of a genre that revolutionized metal. We're like metal pioneers," Wolbers said.

The doors open at 8 p.m., and the show starts at 9 p.m. Get there early because I assure you this one will be a doozy to get into the door. Tickets are $20, which is cheap for four bands in one night. Get ready for the show of a lifetime.
