Life & Arts New Found Glory's house recipe rocks fans by JENNIE SHAW
Anticipation coursed through the crowd as fans prepared themselves for New Found Glory on Halloween night at Warehouse Live. Hitting the stage with them were Hit The Lights, Cartel and Early November. The members of NFG walked onstage clad in gender-bending costumes. Instead of the normal lineup, the band consisted of Marilyn Monroe, a cheerleader and three other ridiculous drag queens. At first, the fans laughed, but the laughter quickly melted into shouting that mirrored the lyrics of NFG's best-known songs. NFG opened with "Catalyst" and had the fans going wild. Mosh pits started brewing and crowd surfing blossomed into full effect. Fans sung along with the band's smash hit, and drinks were sloshed from the hands of those caught up in the moshing. Fans got riled up and threw their fists into the air along with lead singer Jordan Pundik. They began singing to their newest single "It's Not Your Fault" and the concertgoers threw themselves into a whirlwind mosh pit that took up most of the standing room. When the band walked offstage the fans lured them back for an encore with their incessant chants of "N-F-G." "You know from back there it sounds like y'all are
shouting KFC!" guitarist Chad Gilbert said.
