News Campus Crime Report The following is a partial report of campus crime between Saturday and Thursday. All information is selected from the files of the UH Police Department. The information in italics indicates when the event was reported to UHPD and the event’s location. Information or questions regarding the cases below should be directed to UHPD at (713) 743-0600. Prohibited Weapon: 12:03 p.m. Thursday, Cambridge Oaks Apartments -- A Cambridge Oaks residential advisor reported that a resident had a firearm in his apartment. A check of his apartment was made with negative results. The resident will be issued Student Life and Residential Life Referrals. Occurred Thursday. Theft: 10:10 a.m. Friday, Houston Science Center -- A student reported that he secured his bicycle to an iron pipe next to the front door of the HSC building and when he returned to the bicycle someone had stolen it. There are no suspects. Occurred between 4:30 p.m. Nov. 6 and 12 a.m. Friday. Theft: 10:40 a.m. Friday, Campus Recreation and Wellness Center -- A student reported that he secured his clothes and cell phone in a temporary locker at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center and when he returned to the locker one hour later he discovered that someone had stolen his cell phone. There are no suspects at this time. Occurred between 4:10 p.m. and 5:20 p.m. Thursday. Traffic Offense: 10:38 a.m. Friday, Lot 17B -- A staff member reported his parked unattended vehicle was struck and damaged by another vehicle in Lot 17B. There are no suspects or witnesses. Occurred between 6:35 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Theft/Evading Arrest: 4:27 p.m. Friday, University Center -- Three visitors were arrested for the theft of books from the University Center Barnes and Noble bookstore. All three visitors were transported to the Harris County jail and also issued CT warnings to the UH campus. Occurred between 4 p.m. and 4:29 p.m. Friday. Assault: 12:25 a.m. Saturday, Moody Towers --
A student reported that she and her roommate were involved in a verbal
altercation in which her roommate threatened her. The student did not wish
to press charges. The roommate was issued Student and Residential Life
referrals and released. Occurred between 12:20 a.m. and 12:25 a.m. Saturday.
