Stand up: STAND, a student anti-genocide coalition focusing on the crisis in Darfur, will distribute information and recruit new members from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the University Center. For more information, call Teresa at (832) 668-6235.

Sweet deal: The UH Impact Movement will host "The Sweetest Day: Every day with Jesus is sweeter than the day before," offering free deserts from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the World Affairs Lounge of the UC Underground.

Fair is fair: Students for Fair Trade and Oxfam will sponsor an Oxfam Fair Trade lunch from noon to 1 p.m. at the UC’s Cougar Den. Attendance is free but seating is limited. Contact Tim at (713) 739-0011 for more information.

For the homeless: The American Medical Student Association is hosting a donation drive until Nov. 30 to help Houston’s homeless in downtown who are receiving care at the SEARCH clinic. To find out more, such as what items are sought and where drop-off locations are around campus and off campus, e-mail Jana at yjana@hotmail.com. 

For the kids: The Phi Mu sorority is conducting a book drive to benefit the Texas Children’s Hospital’s Children’s Miracle Network Department until Nov. 17. Books appropriate for kids under 13 can be dropped of at Phi Mu’s house, No. 6, at Bayou Oaks. For more information, e-mail clafuente@aol.com. 

Produce: The Student Video Network is seeking student producers to help produce a fresh crop of television shows. Proposals will take place on Friday. For more information, contact Channel 6 adviser Kelly Kilgore at kellyk@uh.edu.
