Campus Crime Report

The following is a partial report of campus crime between Thursday and Monday. All information is selected from the files of the UH Police Department. The information in italics indicates when the event was reported to UHPD and the event's location. Information or questions regarding the cases below should be directed to UHPD at (713) 743-0600.

Theft: 12:35 p.m. Thursday, Agnes Arnold Hall ? A UH student reported his unattended, secured bike was stolen from the bike rack outside of Agnes Arnold Hall. There are no suspects or witnesses at this time. Occurred between 9:50 a.m. and noon Thursday.

Theft: 4:30 p.m. Thursday, M.D. Anderson Library ? A student reported that someone stole her unattended, unsecured backpack from underneath a table in an M.D. Anderson Library computer room while she was in the rest room. There are no suspects. Occurred between 4:19 and 4:20 p.m. Thursday. 

Traffic Offense: 6:14 p.m. Thursday, 4410 Wheeler Ave. ? A visitor was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended when it was discovered that his driver's license was suspended following a traffic stop for defective brake lights. The visitor was transported to the Harris County jail. Occurred between 6:14 and 6:26 p.m. Thursday. 

Traffic Offense: 6:32 p.m. Thursday, Lot 15D ? A faculty member reported that someone struck his unattended, parked vehicle in a UH parking lot and did not leave the information required by law. The responsible driver was located and provided the complainant with her information. The complainant did not wish to file charges in the incident. Occurred between 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Thursday. 

Assault: 4:31 a.m. Friday, Cougar Place Apartments ? A student reported that he was assaulted by another student after allowing the suspect in his room. The student did not wish to press charges. Both students were issued Student Life and Residential Life Referrals and released. Occurred between 4:20 and 4:25 a.m. Friday. 

Theft: 9:30 a.m. Friday, Cougar Place Apartments ? A student reported that someone stole his bicycle from the balcony of his room at Cougar Place Apartments. There are no suspects or witnesses. Occurred between 10 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday. 

Theft: 10:50 a.m. Friday, Moody Towers ? A student reported she left a friend in her room while she took a shower. The student stated that when she returned both her friend and her laptop computer were gone. Occurred between 2 and 10:50 a.m. Friday. 

Criminal Mischief: 3:38 p.m. Friday, Bayou Oaks Apartment ? A Bayou Oaks staff member reported that someone damaged property by cutting a volleyball net in half. An investigation is ongoing. Occurred between 5 p.m. Thursday and 3:45 p.m. Friday. 

False Alarm or Report: 3:41 p.m. Friday, Ezekiel W. Cullen Building ? A former UH student made a prank phone call to UH police dispatch advising that there was a fight in progress at the Ezekiel Cullen Building. This information was eventually found to be false. An investigation is ongoing. Occurred between 3:30 and 3:36 p.m. Friday. 

Warrant: 4:09 p.m. Friday, 4500 Elgin Ave. ? A visitor was involved in a traffic accident with another visitor in the 4500 block of Elgin Avenue and discovered to have outstanding warrants from South Houston Police Department. The visitor was arrested and released to the custody of SHPD. Occurred at 4:09 p.m. Friday.

Traffic Offense: 4:33 p.m. Friday, Lot 20A ? A student reported that someone backed their vehicle into his vehicle and left the location without leaving information. Occurred between 10:50 and 10:59 p.m. Wednesday. 

Criminal Trespass: 8:54 p.m. Friday, Lot 15D ? A juvenile was observed unlawfully entering Robertson Stadium and was also seen looking into vehicles parked in Lot 15D. The juvenile was released to the Harris County Youth Services. Occurred between 8:54 and 9:11 p.m. Friday.

Criminal Mischief: 4:22 a.m. Saturday, Cullen Oaks Apartments ? A UH police officer observed four visitors vandalizing a student's vehicle in the Cullen Oaks Apartments parking garage. The visitors were stopped and detained. The owner of the vehicle did not wish to press charges. All four visitors were issued Criminal Trespass warnings for the entire UH campus and released. Occurred at 4:22 p.m. Saturday. 

Theft: 3:18 p.m. Sunday, University Hilton ? A visitor reported that unknown individuals stole his unattended, unsecured laptop computer from the Baron's Restaurant in the Hilton. Occurred between 2:40 and 2:55 p.m. Sunday. 

Burglary of a Building or Habitation: 7:06 p.m. Sunday, Cougar Place Apartment ? A UH student reported that someone broke into his apartment and his laptop was stolen. Occurred between 12:30 and 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
