News UH student earns copy editing scholarship Dulin will receive $2,500 award, chance to speak at newspaper conference COUGAR NEWS STAFF A former Daily Cougar editor in chief was selected by the American Copy Editors Society to receive its highest honor for a student. Matt Dulin, who served as editor in chief from January 2004 to December 2005, is ACES’ Aubespin scholar, named for Merv Aubespin, a newspaper editor and early proponent of the group. The award includes a $2,500 scholarship and an invitation to speak at the ACES conference in April in Miami ACES awards several scholarships to students and graduates who could potentially become professional copy editors.
