Cougars look to
revive home-court magic
To the untrained eye, UH head coach
Tom Penders' defense may seem like a straight-up, high-pressure, man-to-man
scheme, but it actually requires all defenders on the floor to have the
awareness to switch assignments at a moment's notice and accurately rotate
to prevent easy layups or open jump shots, as well as the ability to jump
gaps.
Houston slipping in conference,
set for four-game home stand
In this week's Conference USA women's
basketball action, Houston (5-11, 2-4 C-USA) and Rice (10-9, 3-3 C-USA)
battled at Autry Court, with the Cougars in need of a victory to get back
on track.
Colts dump playoff burden
The NFL playoffs have produced some
interesting results so far, and the Super Bowl is looming Feb. 4.
