MIA acts return

Modest Mouse, the band that had a
hit song in 2004 with "Float On," is going to release a new album March
20 titled We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank.

opened with a bang as a crowd of more than 150 concert-goers gathered Wednesday
night at The Audley Society, a raw loft space, to witness Holland's hard-swinging
drummer and multi-instrumentalist Han Bennink perform a solo concert.

operatic firsts, but last Friday it got one, compliments of University
of Houston students and faculty in the Moores School of Music, with the
citywide premiere of Flavio.
