Sports Designated hitter bats his way to C-USA honor COUGAR SPORTS SERVICES UH sophomore designated hitter Jimmy Cesario was named the Conference USA Hitter of the Week, the league announced Monday. Cesario batted .667 last week, collecting eight hits in 12 plate appearances in four games. The Metaire, La., native accounted for three runs, a double, a home run and three RBIs while hitting safely in four games against Stephen F. Austin, Baylor, Texas A&M and Arizona State. Cesario had three consecutive multi-hit games to open the season and recorded an RBI in three out of four games. This week marks the first time Cesario has earned the award. At the Houston College Classic at Minute Maid Park this weekend, Cesario and junior right-hander Aaron Brown were named to the Houston College Classic All-Tournament team. Brown gave up one hit in five innings of work in Houston's 4-2 win over Collegiate Baseball No. 20 Baylor Friday night. Cesario chipped in with a 3-for-4 performance from the plate was a combined 3-for-5 in Cougar losses to Texas A&M and Arizona State. UH will be back in action at 7 p.m. Friday at Cougar
