Sports Jackson scores 22 in loss Cougar Sports Services The Cougars hoped to nip a four-game losing streak in the bud on the road against Conference USA foe Tulsa on Thursday night but failed to hit clutch shots when they were down 73-71 in the final minute of regulation. As a result, UH was swept away by the Golden Hurricane 81-73. With UH down 75-71, junior guard Tye "Triple Threat" Jackson failed to convert from three-point range with 34 seconds remaining, giving Tulsa enough breathing room to hand Houston its seventh road loss to a conference opponent this season. Jackson led the Cougars with 22 points and converted five three-pointers but struggled to find consistency from the floor, shooting only 6-for-31. Tulsa's inside presence gave UH fits all night as forwards Jillian Robbins and Larissa Williams combined for 43 points and 19 rebounds. Houston will end its four-game road trip at 2 p.m.
Saturday against Southern Methodist. UH beat the Mustangs 81-65 Jan. 27
at Hofheinz Pavilion.
