UH must focus vs. Panthers

By Chief Ikechi
The Daily Cougar

The Cougars (6-2) will look to continue their dominance at home as they prepare to host the Panthers of Prairie View A&M on Friday at the John E. Hoff Courts.

UH will enter its match with the Panthers as the more experienced team, but head coach John Severance has told his players they cannot look ahead to Monday's showdown versus the LSU Tigers.

"We can't overlook Prairie View A&M. We need to prepare for LSU by taking care of business on Friday," Severance said.

Severance will turn to seniors Loli Gomez and Sonja Nikolic to assure that the team remains focused.

"I rely on them to be very vocal. That's what seniors should do," Severance said.

After matches with Prairie View A&M and LSU, the Cougars will round out their homestand by playing host to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Thursday. They will then hit the road for a pair of matches against Memphis and Southern Miss.

The Cougars' match versus Prairie View A&M begins at noon. Admission is free.
